आतंकवाद विरोधी दिवस हिंदी में : Aatankwad Virodhi Diwas in Hindi –

हर साल 21 मई को आतंकवाद विरोधी दिवस मनाया जाता है। (Anti-Terrorism Day is observed every year on 21 May.) इसी दिन 21 मई 1991 को भारत के पूर्व प्रधानमंत्री “राजीव गांधी” की तमिलनाडु के श्रीपेरुंबुदूर में हत्या कर दी गई थी। आतंकवादियों ने इस घटना को अंजाम दिया था। (This incident was carried out by terrorists.) राजीव गांधी की हत्या के बाद वीपी.सिंह सरकार ने 21 मई को आतंकवाद विरोधी दिवस के तौर पर इस दिन को मनाने का फैसला लिया। तभी से स्वर्गीय राजीव गांधी के सम्मान में तथा उनको श्रद्धांजलि देने के लिए और बलिदान दिवस के रूप में 21 मई का दिन आतंकवाद विरोधी दिवस (National Anti-Terrorism Day) के तौर पर मनाया जाता है। राष्ट्रीय आतंकवाद विरोधी दिवस पहली बार 21 मई 1992 को मनाया गया था। (National Anti-Terrorism Day was first celebrated on 21 May 1992.)

इस दिन अधिकारियों और कर्मचारियों को शपथ दिलाई जाती है कि हम भारतवासी अहिंसा और सहनशीलता में दृढ़ विश्वास रखते हुए सभी प्रकार के आतंकवाद तथा हिंसा का विरोध करेंगे। (On this day, officers and employees are sworn in that we Indians, having strong faith in non-violence and tolerance, will oppose all types of terrorism and violence.) आतंकवाद विरोधी दिवस पर स्कूल, विद्यालयों और महाविद्यालयों में आतंकवाद और हिंसा (Terrorism and Violence in Schools, Colleges and Colleges on Anti-Terrorism Day) के खतरे के संबंध में परिचर्चा तथा सेमिनार आदि आयोजित किए जाते हैं। आतंकवाद विरोध दिवस मनाने का मुख्य उद्देश्य है कि आतंकवाद राष्ट्रीय हितों के प्रतिकूल है तथा देश के नव युवकों को आतंकवादी, हिंसावादी गतिविधियों से अलग करना है। (The main objective of celebrating Anti-Terrorism Day is to ensure that terrorism is against national interests and to keep the youth of the country away from terrorist and violent activities.)

राष्ट्रीय आतंकवाद विरोधी दिवस मनाने का कारण/ऐतिहासिक घटना का समबन्ध (Reason for celebrating National Anti-Terrorism Day/Relation to historical event) : भारत के पूर्व प्रधानमंत्री “राजीव गांधी” की 21 मई 1991 को श्रीपेरुम्बुदूर, तमिलनाडु में आतंकवादियों के द्वारा एक आत्मघाती हमले में हत्या कर दी गई थी। (Former Prime Minister of India “Rajiv Gandhi” was assassinated in a suicide attack by terrorists on 21 May 1991 in Sriperumbudur, Tamil Nadu.)

आतंकवाद विरोधी दिवस का मुख्य उद्देश्य : The main objective of Anti-Terrorism Day –

• शांति, अहिंसा तथा राष्ट्रीय एकता को बढ़ावा देना। : To promote peace, non-violence and national unity.
• नागरिकों को आतंकवाद के खतरों के बारे में शिक्षित करना। : Educating citizens about the dangers of terrorism.
• आतंकवाद के खिलाफ जन-जागरूकता फैलाना। : To spread public awareness against terrorism.
• आतंकवाद के पीड़ितों अर्थात वीर शहीदों को याद करना। : To remember the victims of terrorism i.e. the brave martyrs.
• राष्ट्रीय अखंडता और भाईचारे को मजबूत बनाना। : Strengthening national integrity and brotherhood.
• युवाओं को हिंसा तथा चरमपंथ के रास्ते से दूर रखना। : To keep the youth away from the path of violence and extremism.
• सरकारी कार्यालयों, सार्वजनिक उपक्रमों और शैक्षणिक संस्थानों में आतंकवाद के प्रति संकल्प तथा जागरूकता फैलाना। : To spread resolve and awareness against terrorism in government offices, public undertakings and educational institutions.
