अंतर्राष्ट्रीय ओलंपिक दिवस हर वर्ष 23 जून को मनाया जाता है (International Olympic Day is celebrated every year on June 23.)। दिवस दिवस संसार को क्रियाशील बनाने तथा उद्देश्य के साथ आगे बढ़ने के लिए मनाया जाता है। अंतरराष्ट्रीय ओलंपिक समिति का गठन 23 जून‚ 1894 को हुआ था (The International Olympic Committee was formed on June 23, 1894.)। इस दिन, विश्वभर में बहुत तरह के कार्यक्रमों का आयोजन किए जाते हैं। यह सभी आयु वर्ग के लोगों को शारीरिक तथा मानसिक स्वास्थ्य के लिए सक्रिय जीवनशैली अपनाने की प्रेरणा प्रदान करता है (It inspires people of all age groups to adopt an active lifestyle for physical and mental health.)। सबसे पहले वर्ष 1947 में इसका उत्सव मनाया गया था (It was first celebrated in the year 1947.)।

जनवरी 1948 में स्विट्जरलैंड के सेंट मोरित्ज में 42वें IOC सत्र में इस प्रोजेक्ट को मंजूरी मिल गई (This project was approved at the 42nd IOC Session in St. Moritz, Switzerland, in January 1948.)। आईओसी (IOC) का मुख्यालय लुसाने‚ स्विट्जरलैंड में है (The headquarters of the IOC is in Lausanne, Switzerland.)। राष्ट्रीय ओलंपिक समितियों को इस आयोजन का प्रभारी बनाया गया था। तभी से यह तारीख ओलंपिक अभियान के इतिहास के यादगार पल में शामिल हो गई (Since then, this date has become a memorable moment in the history of the Olympic campaign.)।

• इस दिन लोग यह दिवस मनाने के लिए ओलंपिक दिवस रन का आयोजन कराते हैं। : On this day, people organize the Olympic Day Run to celebrate the occasion.
• ओलंपिक दिवस का आयोजन पहली बार 1987 में शुरू किया गया (Olympic Day was first organized in 1987.)। यह रन सभी राष्ट्रीय ओलंपिक समितियों (एनओसी) को ओलंपिक दिवस मनाने तथा सामूहिक खेल को बढ़ावा देने के उद्देश्य से आयोजित किया जाता है।
• अंतर्राष्ट्रीय ओलंपिक दिवस को कुछ देशों ने स्कूली पाठ्यक्रम में भी शामिल किया है। : Some countries have also included International Olympic Day in their school curricula.
• सभी आयु वर्ग के लोगों ओलंपिक दिवस में शामिल हो सकते है। : People of all age groups can participate in Olympic Day.
• स्कूलों में ओलंपिक मूल्यों की शिक्षा, खेलों का महत्व तथा नैतिकता को समझाया जाता है। : In schools, education on Olympic values, the importance of sports, and ethics is imparted.

अंतर्राष्ट्रीय ओलंपिक दिवस 2026 की थीम : Theme for International Olympic Day 2026 –

अंतर्राष्ट्रीय ओलंपिक दिवस का मुख्य थीम, अंतर्राष्ट्रीय ओलंपिक समिति (IOC) के अनुसार, 2026 मिलान कोर्टिना समापन समारोह का विषय “ ब्यूटी इन एक्शन ” है, जिसे “इतालवी संस्कृति, रचनात्मकता और खेल, कला और सौंदर्य की एकता” के प्रति प्रेम पत्र के रूप में तैयार किया गया है (According to the International Olympic Committee (IOC), the theme for the 2026 Milan-Cortina closing ceremony is “Beauty in Action,” conceived as a love letter to Italian culture, creativity, and the unity of sport, art, and beauty.)।

ओलंपिक रिंग्स का इतिहास : History of the Olympic Rings –

• वर्ष 1913 में मॉडर्न ओलंपिक गेम्स के संस्थापक पियरे डी कूबर्टिन ने डिज़ाइन किया था। : It was designed in 1913 by Pierre de Coubertin, the founder of the modern Olympic Games.
• आपस में जुड़े ये पाँच छल्ले (रिंग्स) उन पाँच महाद्वीपों का प्रतीक हैं जहाँ लोग रहते हैं- अफ्रीका, अमेरिका, एशिया, यूरोप तथा ओशिनिया। : These five interlocking rings symbolize the five inhabited continents-Africa, the Americas, Asia, Europe, and Oceania.
• रिंग्स के रंगों तथा सफ़ेद बैकग्राउंड को इसलिए चुना गया क्योंकि ये रंग हर देश के झंडे में होते हैं। : The colors of the rings and the white background were chosen because these colors appear in the flags of every country.
• ओलंपिक रिंग्स एकता तथा वैश्विक भागीदारी की भावना प्रतीक है और दुनिया भर के एथलीटों का स्वागत करता है। : The Olympic rings symbolize the spirit of unity and global partnership, and welcome athletes from around the world.
• ओलंपिक रिंग्स को पहली बार आधिकारिक तौर पर 1920 में इस्तेमाल किया गया था। : The Olympic rings were officially used for the first time in 1920.
